A tree menu is list of items having an arrangement that resembles a tree and its branches. The Location Setup pane is an example of a tree menu, as seen in the figure below. Location Setup is at the top of the entire tree, and Sales Departments the first branch, or node.
Clicking the small arrow beside any node expands or collapses that node. Nodes may be nested, such that a node may be found beneath another node. Examples of this can be seen below.
Click on an item beneath a node to perform actions (that correspond to that node). The ribbon will change to display buttons and the main window will likely change to provides lists or search filters.
