With a work order template, you can easily begin a work order or estimate with any combination of concerns, inspections and services already in place. This can be more efficient for work orders, estimates and counter sales that you perform frequently.

To access the Work Order template feature, begin by clicking on the Setup button in the Home ribbon. Then, locate or search for Work Order Templates–which can be found beneath the Work Order Setup folder. From here, you can add, edit, and delete work order templates.
Access Work Order Templates as we explain above.
To add a new template, click the Add command button in the ribbon.
To edit an existing template, click on the template in the list and then click the Edit button in the ribbon.
Enter a distinctive Name for the template and a Description.
From the drop-down list, choose an Option that is most suitable for this template:
Work Order Wizard - this template is for use with the New Work wizard and provides a walkthrough through the entire service routine, including deferred work, OEM maintenance schedules and reminder items.
Contact / Service Item Search - this template is often for use with a counter sale or estimate. The work order begins with the contact / service item search for which you choose a generic customer or add a new contact/service item and then go directly to the work order page–bypassing the standard service routine in the New Work Wizard.
Work Order Editor - this template that is typically used with a counter sale or estimate, but starts in the work order page with a generic customer assignment. (This template also by-passes the standard service routine in the New Work Wizard).
Next, you can add services, concerns, inspections, and service packages to the template using the Add Services button in the ribbon, much like is done when creating a single work order.
To save your template, click the Save command button in the ribbon.
You can change the order in which the work order templates appear when clicking on the bottom half of the New Work Order button in the ribbon. First, access the Work Order Templates feature as we explain above. Then, in the template listing (right window pane), click on a work order template and drag it to the new position. Repeat this drag-and-drop movement for all other templates for which you want to change the order.
When the work order template is in the order that you want, simply click on the Save button ribbon.
Follow these steps to delete a work order template:
Access the Work Order Templates feature as we explain above.
In the template listing (right window pane), click on a work order template.
Click the Delete button in the ribbon.
Click the Yes button in the popup to confirm your intention.
